A walk through Falun, a World Heritage Site celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Learn about the history of how Falun became Sweden’s second-largest city; hear how the copper mine shaped the city then and now; and also learn about its sports scene, culture, and everything else under the sun.
The route starts outside the World Heritage House at Gruvan and ends at Stora Torget.
The tour does not include the mine area, so it’s a great idea to visit the mine before the city walking tour begins. There is plenty of parking at the mine, unless you choose to park near Stora Torget (the Gamla Posten parking lot) so you’ll have your car nearby after the guided tour.
