Family Hike in the World Heritage Forest

Step right into a living piece of cultural history, part of the Falun World Heritage Site. Accompanied by a local guide, we’ll follow the paths that miners, maids, and mountain men have walked since the Middle Ages. The dramatic history of the Falu Mine comes to life during this hike, which takes us through cultural reserves and historic settings.

We’ll meet the animals at Dikarbacken, discover the flavors of nature, and get to know the landscape shaped by over a thousand years of mining around the Falu Mine. A traditional forest snack awaits us by the fire before the hike continues toward the great copper mountain.

A bus from downtown Falun goes to the Lilltorpet stop; the route ends at Falu Mine.
